Downforce Reduction System (DRS) zone designated

FIA revealed the area for the Turkey Grand Prix of this weekend
Wednesday, May 4, 2011

May 4, (F1plus Team).- As it is becoming the common practice, the FIA revealed details about the Downforce Reduction System area in the same week of the Grand Prix that will take place.

The FIA has confirmed that the DRS activation zone at this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix will start shortly before Turn 11.
The F1 regulatory organization has decided to stretch the activation area so it is between Turn 10 and Turn 12. This means that It will cover more ground since it will start just before the very fast right hand corner 11.

The detection zone for the DRS will be just before the braking zone for the left turn corner 9, which is immediately followed by turn number 10 to the right.

As expected, the location of the DRS zone is in the same place where Red Bull Racing combo, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel, collided after the German’s surprising charge for the lead.
