Rosberg receives reprimand for ignoring yellow flags

Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg was reprimanded but allowed to keep his victory after the stewards found he had ignored yellow flags

SILVERSTONE, UK, June 30th, 2013 (F1Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Shortly after the race, winner Nico Rosberg found himself in front of the stewards as for appearing "not to slow for Yellow Flags in turns 3 to 5 at 14:06."

An hour later the decision came from the stewards that Rosberg would be given a reprimand and no penalty would be imposed, meaning today’s race results stay the same, and the German escapes with a slap on the wrist.

The FIA official statement read "The stewards found no evidence of a significant reduction in speed that is required under Article 2.4.5.1 (b) of Appendix H of the International Sporting Code."

Mercedes really seemed to have got on top of their race pace around Silverstone, however Rosberg said after the race that "it wouldn’t have been possible” for him to win the race had Sebastian Vettel not retired.
