MONZA, September 6th, 2013 (F1plus/Rosie Baillie).- The GP2 driver took part in his first Formula One race weekend by replacing Adrian Sutil in the Force India during Free Practice 1.

“Nice to get back in one. The novelty never wears off. You always feel ‘blimey this is really, really fast’, especially here at Monza at the end of the straights.” He said.

On announcing Calado as their third driver Force India said that he would take part in more practice sessions later this year, though he doesn’t yet know when it will be.

‘I’m sure I’ll be in the car again at some point, nothing’s been confirmed in terms of which races I’m going to’ Calado said.

“It depends on the battle between McLaren and Force India, so we will work around that.” The 24 year old explained.

Shortly after finishing FP1 in the Force India, Calado returned to his duties with the ART Grand Prix team in GP2. When asked what it was like going back to his GP2 car he said he was relieved to find he didn’t find it hard at all.

“It wasn’t tough at all actually, in GP2 we spent two laps warming the tyres because we don’t have tyre warmers, so in those two laps I just became familiar with everything. I braked a little bit too late in some corners but to be honest it was fine”.

Looking to the future Calado hopes his dream of becoming a Formula One driver will become a reality.

“That’s the dream. I’ve no idea for any future plans but I can only do my best now, in GP2 and in the F1 practice, we’ll see what happens”. The Briton concluded.
