MONZA, September 8th, 2013 (F1Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Five years after his maiden Formula One win while racing for Toro Rosso, Sebastian Vettel dominated the Italian Grand Prix to take his 32nd career win and extend his championship lead over his rivals.

He took his 40th pole position during qualifying and dominated the race, pulling out a gap over his rivals as soon as the lights went out in Monza.

After working his way back to the lead he dominated the remainder of the race while nursing a gearbox issue and took the win, much to the dismay of the Tifosi who booed him on the podium.

During the post race press conference Vettel said he was surprised by the car's pace at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, which doesn't usually suit the Red Bulls.

"Great job by the whole team today, very good job by Renault. Usually this is one of the toughest tracks we go to but this year the car’s been absolutely fantastic, the race has been incredible," Vettel said.

He went on to talk about the Tifosi booing him on the podium saying it didn't really bother him as it meant he'd done a good job.

"A fantastic race - but you can hear the difference, obviously, when you don’t win here in a red suit, you get a lot of that but in the end it’s very nice because it means you’ve done very good and beat the red guys. So we are very proud of that."

Teammate Mark Webber, who finished in third place, spoke out about the fans booing Vettel saying he wasn't a fan of it.

"The atmosphere I was not completely a fan of, to be honest. Sebastian won the race and the atmosphere is not completely correct but anyway… that’s their choice." Webber said.

As always Vettel denies that he's even thinking about winning the championship, but with a 53 point lead over closest rival Alonso, it's hard to see how he could not take his fourth consecutive championship at the end of the season.
