October 30th, 2013 (f1plus/R. Baillie).- Romain Grosjean has finished the last three races on the podium and is aiming to give it his all this weekend in Abu Dhabi in the hopes of finishing on the podium again.
“I'll come with the same philosophy as those last few races to give and do my best. I’ve finished on the podium in Korea, Japan and India. It’s a good feeling being there.” Grosjean said.
“Certainly in this latter part of the season, our latest car with the revised Pirelli tyres seems to work very well and I can get a good performance from it at different circuits. I only want to be scoring points for the team and you get the most points from being on the podium!”
Team Principal Eric Boullier is happy with the Frenchman’s recent performance and believes Pirelli’s mid-way through the season has benefitted him.
“Romain has moved to another level since the German Grand Prix in many areas. His confidence is strong and he’s not affected by setbacks as much as he may have been previously.” Boullier explained.
“as a team we have a very good handle on our car, the most recent updates such as the long wheelbase are working well, and the mid-season change to the tyre specifications by Pirelli also seems to have benefitted him.”
Grosjean’s teammate Kimi Raikkonen is hoping he can can repeat last years result and pick up his 21st win.
“A race like last year would be good, rather than the one I had there in 2009.” Raikkonen said.
“That was a boring one I can tell you! I finished back in twelfth position and there was nothing I could do about it. Those sorts of races are not the best.”
