Rosberg: "We can give Red Bull a hard time"

After topping the times in both Friday practice sessions, Nico Rosberg is optimistic of a strong result in Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix

November 22nd, 2013 (F1Plus / Chris Cameron-Dow) - Nico Rosberg has reason to be optimistic about his chances in the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver finished both Friday practice sessions at the top of the time sheets, beating even the Red Bull pair of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber in tricky wet conditions.

Rosberg described his Friday in Brazil:

"Today I had a good start into the weekend, and I was very quick in the rain even though we don't really know about the fuel levels of the other teams. Therefore we need to read the time sheets with some caution. But generally I have higher hopes now that perhaps we can give Red Bull a hard time this weekend.

"We all know that the weather plays always a big role here at Interlagos and can catch you out. We were not able to run that much but the track feels really great and it was great fun to be out there and find the limit in these difficult conditions."

Rosberg has already won two races in 2013, the Monaco and British Grands Prix. A win at the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix would be the perfect way to enter the off-season for the highly rated German driver. Whether or not victory is possible for Rosberg on Sunday remains to be seen, but the signs are good for him so far this weekend.
