Interlagos, BRAZIL, November 23rd, 2013 (F1Plus / Bruno Ferreira) - Sebastian Vettel admits he was shocked after catching his 45th pole position in his F1 career, this Saturday at Interlagos, with such a dominating performance.
The four-time world champion will start the Brazilian GP on pole position after setting a lap 0,6s quicker then second-placed Nico Rosberg, who will share the front row with his countryman.
“It was a big surprise,” said Vettel about the gap. “I went straight on intermediates an was able to get a very, very good lap in straight away. Surprised by the margin. It’s great in these conditions to get it all right. We had very little practice and still got the car where we wanted it to be.”
However, he thinks it’s unlikely to display such dominant performance in the race, as he believes things can change for Sunday. “I think Nico touched on it, so it could be 50/50. It looks to be the best day that we have out of the last two but anything is possible here. We saw in the race last year how quickly things can change.”
