Jan 11th, 2014 (F1plus/R. Baillie).- Marussia confirmed that Max Chilton will continue driving for them in 2014 at the Autosport International show in Birmingham, England.

The news means that Marussia’s lineup is the same as last year with Chilton being partnered by Jules Bianchi.

“I am really happy to be continuing with the Marussia F1 Team into a second season. Continuity is important for the Team but also for me as a driver.” Chilton said.

“You learn such a lot in your debut season, but the second year is when you can really pull all of those new experiences together and show your true potential.”

The team's President and Sporting Director Graeme Lowdon said he was ‘delighted’ to announce the news at the show and said it was a reward for the fans who support them.

“Judging by the warm reaction we received at the Show, they felt it was well worth the wait to hear the news first hand and we at the Marussia F1 Team felt it was a fitting reward for the incredible support we receive from them.”

On the Autosport Stage later in the day Chilton spoke about next years car and said that he hadn’t had the chance to try it in the simulator yet.

“They’re [the cars] so different, though I don’t really have a clue myself, but pretty demanding. We haven’t actually driven the car in the simulator yet, so I haven’t really got a clue how it’s going to perform.” said Chilton.

The Brit set a record at the end of the 2013 season after finishing every single race of his rookie season.

“The job we did last year was actually very impressive for what we have.

"We have only 200 people in the team compared to six or seven hundred at other teams, for them to build such a reliable car last year for me to finish every grand prix in my rookie season, which is a record in Formula One which will never be beaten, it can be equalled but can never be beaten. I think that’s just outstanding for the resources they have.” The Brit said.
