These include: one of the 12 days of pre-season testing being used to test wet tyres and each team will use one day of their eight days in-season testing to test tyres.

Pirelli says the latter rule means that at each one of the in-season testing days at least one team, up to a maximum of two, will be testing tyres.

In their press release Pirelli said they will “continue to determine the specification of the tyres and to manage all aspects of their development, in close consultation with the FIA and the teams, and within the parameters set out in the FIA Formula One Sporting & Technical Regulations.”

The Italian tyre manufacturer returned to F1 for the 2011 season after Bridgestone dropped out at the end of 2010.
