March 29, 2014 (F1 Plus / Rosie Baillie) - During Q2 Fernando Alonso and Daniil Kvyat came together down at Turn 9. After reviewing evidence the stewards have decided to take no further action.

“The Stewards do not believe either driver were wholly or predominantly to blame for the incident.” a statement from the stewards read.

The collision broke the front left track rod on Alonso’s car but his engineers were able to fix it in a matter of minutes and get him back out on track shortly after the session restarted.

"The incident with Kvyat was unfortunate for both of us and was inevitable, because by the time I saw the Toro Rosso it was too late." Alonso said about the incident.

Kvyat didn't seem to have any hard feelings about the incident saying visibility was poor for everyone due to the spray coming off the track.

"As for the incident with Alonso, the visibility was very poor for everyone and I think he didn’t see me and in the end, he turned into me. I think it was quite normal that he didn’t see me because there was so much spray." he said.

Valtteri Bottas received a three place grid drop and two penalty points for impeding Daniel Ricciardo during qualifying. Bottas will now start the Malaysian Grand Prix 18th.

Jean-Eric Vergne picked up two fines totalling €1,300 for speeding in the pitlane.
