Massa 100% sure new parts should work

The Brazilian says Williams are better at bringing updates to the car than Ferrari were.

BARCELONA, 8th May (F1 Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Felipe Massa has faith that Williams’ updates will work and says they are better at improving the car than Ferrari were.

The Brazilian drove for Ferrari for nine years and commented that he couldn’t remember a race last year where new parts worked.

“Last year, to be honest, I don’t remember one race that we brought some new parts and it worked. And there we had a lot of new parts.” Massa said.

Most of the races had new parts and they never worked and we always removed them on Friday evening.”

Massa said he was ‘100% sure’ that any new parts Williams bring to this race, and to any other race, should work.

“The work we are doing at Williams, the new parts that we bring into the car, the only thing which we couldn't use yet was the bigger rear wing, which is something that hasn't been working since the first race.” he said.

“That’s the only thing, apart from that everything we brought is in the car. So I’m really 100% sure that new parts here will work, new parts at the next race and every race, should work.”

Though he is confident that the new parts will work he doesn’t expect it to drastically change the FW36.

“It’s not something that will change completely the car,” Massa said.

“But it is important to keep developing the car. So I hope we can have a step forward, closer to the other teams who have as well.”

Williams are having a strong season so far, with two points finishes from Massa and four from Valtteri Bottas.
