No one had an answer for the Mercedes driver who continues to dominate.

BARCELONA, 9th May 2014 (F1 Plus / Rosie Baillie) - In a repeat of this morning’s performance Lewis Hamilton dominated FP2 in Barcelona.

No one had an answer for the Mercedes driver who topped the timesheets for most of the session and finished 0.2s ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg.

Both Rosberg and Daniel Ricciardo held the top spot for a short period of time but were unable to come back at Hamilton to beat his time.

Fernando Alonso mirrored his FP1 position and finished fourth again, this time with teammate Kimi Raikkonen in fifth.

Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button finished side by side in sixth and seventh followed by Felipe Massa, Pastor Maldonado, Daniil Kvyat and Nico Hulkenberg.

Jean-Eric Vergne’s session ended four minutes early when his right rear tyre fell off his car in Turn 2. The Frenchman ended the session 12th, 0.2s behind his teammate.

Adrian Sutil finished 13th followed by Valtteri Bottas, Esteban Gutierrez and Sergio Perez.

Romain Grosjean had a troublesome second half of the session and finished 17th after his session was ended early due to abnormal brake wear.

Earlier in the session the Frenchman stopped at the end of the pitlane and was pushed back into the garage after the team checked the car over. On the next lap he complained that he was suffering ‘‘the same issues as this morning".

Jules Bianchi finished 18th over a second ahead of teammate Max Chilton who finished 19th. Chilton locked up after the chequered flag and ended the session in the gravel.

Kamui Kobayashi and Marcus Ericsson appeared to be struggling to handle the car and finished the session 20th and 21st respectively.

Sebastian Vettel missed the session as the electrical issue which forced him to stop during FP1 damaged his wiring loom.
