14th May 2014 (F1 Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Pastor Maldonado topped the timesheets in the morning and afternoon sessions on day two of the Barcelona test.

The Lotus driver ended the day on top after putting in a 1:24.871, followed by Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes.

During the morning’s running Rosberg tested the new megaphone style exhaust which is supposed to make the cars sound louder.

After a stop-start day yesterday, Kimi Raikkonen had a more productive day, going fourth fastest and putting in 93 laps.

Esteban Gutierrez was fifth followed by Susie Wolff in the Williams. Wolff brought out the first red flag of the day after spinning off.

Jules Bianchi was sixth fastest but an issue with his car brought his afternoon to an early close.

Seventh fastest was Sebastian Vettel, who sat out for most of the morning and only put in 14 laps. The quadruple champion made up for it in the afternoon though and finished the day with 72 laps under his belt.

Daniel Juncadella carried out tyre testing in the Force India. He brought out the red flags a couple of times and went eighth fastest overall.

In the McLaren was Stoffel Vandoorne, who was carrying out tyre testing in the McLaren. On his maiden outing in a Formula One car he completed 136 laps of Circuit de Catalunya, which is enough to earn him his Super Licence.

To earn a Super Licence you have to amass 300km/190miles in a F1 car and Vandoorne achieved 633km/393miles.

Daniil Kvyat completed the least number of laps, racking up just 21 laps after stopping twice on track.

Caterham did not run on the second day due to damage sustained to the car following Kamui Kobayashi’s crash shortly before the end of day one.
