Kevin Magnussen finished ninth and Kimi Raikkonen rounded out the points in 10th place.

Massa was looking very strong towards after pitting 12 laps before the end of the race and began making up positions.

At one point it looked like Perez could have capitalised on Rosberg’s issue to take his first win. The Mexican struggled towards the end of the race and dropped a place to Vettel.

On the penultimate lap Massa made contact with the back of Perez, ending both of their races. The issue is under investigation by the stewards.

Esteban Gutierrez retired on lap 67 after losing power.

Lotus suffered a double retirement with Pastor Maldonado retiring on lap 24 and Romain Grosjean on lap 62 with a damaged rear wing after spending most of the race at the back of the field.

A double retirement for Caterham also who lost Marcus Ericsson early in the race to save his power unit and Kamui Kobayashi on lap 25 with a rear suspension issue.

Marussia suffered a double retirement and brought out the safety car on the opening lap. Max Chilton appeared to lose control of his car going into turn 3 and made contact with Jules Bianchi who hit the wall.
