SILVERSTONE, 6th July 2014 (F1Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Caterham have confirmed that GP2 driver Julian Leal will take part in the Silverstone test this coming Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Leafield based outfit have already confirmed that Rio Haryanto and Will Stevens will test the CT05 over the two day test.
Leal is currently driving for Carlin in the GP2 series and is sixth in the standings after finishing 10th and sixth respectively at the British round.
The Colombian driver says he's looking forward to his Formula One testing debut and aims to learn as much as possible.
"I am very excited about my first Formula 1 test and I would like to thank Caterham F1 Team and everyone who has helped make this opportunity possible.” Leal said.
“my main goal is to learn as much as I possibly can and help the team work through the program they set - I know I will be given all the help and advice I need, now I just want to get started!"
Caterham’s new CEO Christijan Albers is confident that Leal will do a good job and says the team will provide him with all the guidance he will need.
"I am very pleased that we have been able to give Julián this opportunity and I am sure he will do a very good job for us in his test.” Albers said.
“We have been able to help him make that progression at the Silverstone test and now it is up to him to make the most of it. We will give him all the guidance he will need and I am sure he will do a great job."
