September 6th, 2011 (F1plus Team).- Fernando Alonso and Ferrari crossed the checquered flag in first last time a Formula 1 race was held at Monza, and they are planning to repeat that 2010 story again this year
Monza, is the kind of circuit that fits very well Ferrari, and on top of that one has to add the presence of the “tifosi” that makes the red bullets go even faster.

Last year Alonso claimed the so called hat-trick; pole position, race win and fastest lap while his team-mate Felipe Massa finished third, much to the delight to the Ferrari fans.

The two-time World Champion hopes for more of the same this weekend, but he acknowledges it won't be easy as their rivals will once again be strong.

"Monza is a very special race for all drivers: it is the fastest circuit in the Championship and driving here gives you extraordinary feelings," he told the press. "It is also very special for emotional reasons, especially if you drive for Ferrari, as I experienced for the time last year."

He added: "Winning at Monza is incredible and winning there driving a red car is even more incredible. Being on the podium and seeing thousands of fans below you wearing red shirts and waving red flags is overwhelming. Our aim this year is the same as last year: to win the race.

"We know we have the potential to reach our goal, but we also know that our opponents are very strong. I am sure that we will have a very exciting race, as we have seen many times so far this season already."
