Bio

I’m an obsessive F1 fan, and have been following the sport like my life depends on it since watching the British GP at Brands Hatch on TV in 1986. Just as well I got an exciting race as my initiation.

I cheered on Nigel Mansell for the remainder of that year, only to ditch him for what was (from my six year old perspective) the heinous offence of missing out on the drivers’ title in the final race in Adelaide. Eventually I became a massive Ayrton Senna fan instead, and stayed as such for the remainder of his career.

On my blog Talking about F1 I share my musings on the sport. There I write researched and in-depth articles on F1. This includes race and qualifying reports, race previews, analysis of current F1 issues, looking back at F1 history – which I have a particular enthusiasm for – and much much more. I also tweet at @talkingaboutf1 and am on Facebook: www.facebook.com/TalkingAboutF1.

I also host Retro F1, which is where me and other F1 fans watch a classic F1 race in full online and chat on Twitter about it as we go. More details can be found here: http://www.talkingaboutf1.com/search/label/RetroF1.

I try to attend at least one F1 race a year. I attended the race in Valencia in 2011 (it’s not as bad when you’re there), Hungary in 2010, and have previously been to F1 races at Monza, Spa and Silverstone.

I also do marshaling (usually badly) at Brands Hatch a number of times a year, and in doing this I once got to chat to Sporty Spice's half brother and he'd retried from a BTCC race. Jolly nice chap he was as well.

I live and work in London, and have done since 2003.
