We have seen great racing at Silverstone, and internal feuds have taken a big role in the action. In recent years, Red Bull racing has given us sample of those through Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel.

July 4th, 2012 (F1plus / Surendhar).- For many years rivals within the teams beefed up the fighting spirit of every men working around them. There were millions of it: Senna and Prost, Hamilton and Alonso, etc. As the British GP shapes up, no wonder if it can become the best of the lot. Witnessed by one of the most passionate crowd on the planet, the F1 circus returns to the birthplace of numerous F1 teams after the thrilling end to any race you could imagine on the previous outing.

The past two season’ British race has seen two great competitors fight it out for finishing ahead of one another. Vettel enjoyed a glorious season of unruffled victories in 2011 but it was there in Silverstone his team-mate Mark Webber gave him a real push till the finish. The weekend was engulfed with controversy as Redbull’s very own ‘off-throttle blown diffuser’ ban came into existence.

The inevitable pole went to Redbull but it was Mark Webber who found the edge in front of Vettel. The ever-changing British weather also played its part in the race as Vettel beat Webber to the first corner. Fernando Alonso made the most out of pit stop blunder of Vettel to triumph at the end but Mark Webber was all set to seize second from Vettel.

At the closing stages Mark was in Vettel’s slipstream to make the maneuver but he was ordered to let go Vettel, though he ignored it, he had to give it up ultimately. Like all, Redbull leapt to the eye played down that they had no team orders which tended to affect Webber.

It was even more intense in 2010 when Vettel looked to be the apparent choice for Milton Keyes based team. Though Webber was on a good run, their bitter coming together at Turn 8 in Turkey literally split the team into halves. During the practice session Vettel failed with his newly updated front wing and without the concern of Mark they had taken the wing of his car to bolt it on Vettel’s RB6.

Putting the emotions behind Webber took the lead at the start while Vettel slithered off the track and finally he roared past the grandstands for a superlative win ahead of Lewis Hamilton. This year though it is Webber who trails Alonso in second, meanwhile, Vettel with no points in Valencia languishes at fourth.

Vettel has the one-lap pace to go one further in Qualifying and Mark has to make quick ground to place himself as high up the grid as possible. If the Bulls lock it out yet again, the consequences will add fuel to the wildly spectacular season of 2012!!!!
